Uncapped defender Habib Mohamed forced his way into the World Cup squad following his outstanding performances in Ghana's domestic league.

Mohamed, who had been on trial at Maccabi Netanya in Israel earlier this year, has been knocking on the international door for some time but now has finally won his chance.

The 27-year-old's inclusion to the squad will give hope to fellow pros in his homeland that they need not seek a move to Europe to have the chance of starring in major competitions.
