Position: Midfielder
Born: 30.01.82
Club: Young Boys

While the likes of Didier Drogba and Didier Zokora are established players on the European stage, Gilles Yapi Yapo isn't. Yet.

The word 'yet' is the key one there, though, as Yapi Yapo has all the attributes of a player who looks destined for the very top.

Another to have made their name in Europe with Belgian club Beveren, Yapi Yapo established himself with Nantes before joining Young Boys last summer.

He had signed for the French club as successor to Eric Djemba-Djemba and proved a more than able deputy for the man who went on to flop at Manchester United.

Something of a temperamental player, the 24-year-old has been linked with Real Madrid (although he claims Arsenal are his "favourite team") and if he is switched on this summer he could be the real spark in the Elephants' side.
