A debutant just last August when he was called into the Ivory Coast squad for the friendly against France, Koffi Ndri - full name Christian Koffi 'Romaric' Ndri - has emerged at just the right time to earn himself a World Cup call-up.

Surprisingly included for that game in Montpellier given the omission of former national skipper Tchiressoa Guel, Ndri has impressed Henri Michel with his attitude and has earnt his ticket to Germany as a result.

Now playing his club football in France for Le Mans, the 23-year-old previously turned out for Belgian side Beveren.

A key factor in his new club's promotion back to Ligue 1 last summer, Ndri started out as a forward but has now moved back to a midfield slot.
