Position: Forward
Born: 07.03.81
Club: Auxerre

A lithe and fleet-footed forward, Kanga Gauthier Akale is another of the Ivory Coast squad to be well established in Ligue 1, where he has been a key figure in Auxerre's successful transition after Guy Roux's departure.

Akale moved to Auxerre in December of 2002 from FC Zurich, where he established his pedigree after a year-long spell with FC Sion.

The 25-year-old won two Coupe de France winners' medals under Roux and featured regularly in qualifying for this tournament, meaning he will be expecting a place in Henri Michel's starting line-up.
