Position: Midfielder
Born: 02.08.68
Club: Falkirk

The oldest player in the squad, Russell Latapy was tempted out of international retirement to help secure the Soca Warriors' World Cup qualification in August 2005.

He had retired from the national team in 2001, but decided to return to the fold to help in the closing stages of the qualification campaign.

Latapy has spent the last seven years playing his club football in Scotland, where he has represented Hibernian, Rangers, Dundee United and Falkirk, for whom he is still going strong in the SPL as a player-coach.

Latapy is undoubtedly a legend of Trinidad & Tobago football, and is also one of the most experienced players going to Germany having made his international debut way back in 1988.

An inventive and inspirational midfielder, even at 37 years old Latapy will be a tough opponent for anyone in the World Cup.
