Strong and pacy, Gabriel Badilla is a talented all-round defender as he is also good with the ball at his feet.

Badilla helped Saprissa win the 2005 CONCACAF Champions Cup, scoring in the first leg of the final against Mexican club Pumas.

The Saprissa player then played against Liverpool in the 2005 FIFA Club World Championship in Japan, helping his team to finish third in the competition.

The defender has also captained Costa Rica's Under-17s at the World Championships in Trinidad and Tobago in 2001.
