Fred has made an impressive impact for French champions Lyon since his move from Cruzeiro and his form in helping them to a fifth straight Ligue 1 title has got him the nod for Brazil's World Cup squad ahead of Ricardo Oliveira.

His stature allows him to win a lot in the air and he has incredibly quick feet, that quality highlighted in the Champions League clash between Lyon and PSV this season when he netted a stunning goal.

Fred had only earned two caps for Brazil when the squad was named in May, but he has almost limitless potential, and much is expected of him.
