One of two uncapped players in the Tunisian squad along with striker Yassine Chikhaoui, Mehdi Meriah is a robust defender with a powerful shot that makes him a danger from attacking set-pieces.

His inexperience at international level means it is unlikely he will find himself getting much - if any - action this summer but as with all such players he will be better for the experience of having travelled to his first major tournament.

Meriah plays his club football for Etoile Sahel having joined them from Uttihad Monastir as recently as January.
