After a successful first season in England - including his FA Cup final penalty shoot-out heroics - Jose 'Pepe' Reina enters this summer's tournament as Spain's No 2 behind Iker Casillas.

Recruited by Anfield boss Rafael Benitez from Villarreal last summer, the 23-year-old has ousted Istanbul hero Jerzy Dudek as Liverpool's No 1 and was an integral part of the Reds defensive line that kept an impressive 33 clean sheets in all competitions this season.

That followed a campaign in which he helped Villarreal qualify for the Champions League for the first time by finishing third in La Liga and underlines just why Benitez - and Luis Aragones - rate him so highly.

Excellent in one-on-ones and something of a penalty specialist - he saved seven out of nine in his last season at Villarreal and three in the FA Cup final shoot-out - Reina began his career at Barcelona before moving to El Madrigal.
