Position: Defender
Born: 12.12.75
Club: Newcastle

Craig Moore is a hugely experienced defender, but injury threatened to derail his World Cup dream.

Moore joined Premiership side Newcastle United last summer, but a persistent thigh injury meant he didn't make his first-team debut until March.

Moore joined Rangers aged 17 before a brief spell with Terry Venables' Crystal Palace after five years at Ibrox.

He then returned to Rangers under Dick Advocaat's tenure, but his insistence on playing the 2004 Olympics saw Alex McLeish ship him out to Borussia Monchengladbach and a reunion with Advocaat.

Following the Dutchman's sacking, Moore was released and he returned to England with Newcastle.

He has recovered his fitness just in time to play in Germany and his experience will be useful to Guus Hiddink's squad.
