Looking for a new club in the wake of Birmingham's relegation from the English Premiership this season, Stan Lazaridis has the perfect stage to show off his talents in Germany.
In his 11 seasons in England - first with West Ham then the Blues - the 33-year-old Lazaridis has built his reputation as a talented left-winger able to beat defenders, get to the byline and send in pinpoint crosses.
He was playing for West Adelaide when spotted by the Hammers in 1995 before dropping a division to move to St Andrews four years later.
The most capped player in Australia's squad after Tony Vidmar was left out at the last minute because of his irregular heartbeat, Lazaridis made his international debut in 1993, played in the 1997 and 2001 play-offs and has featured in two Confederations Cup campaigns.
