Born in Angola but raised in Portugal, Rui Marques may be a familiar face to some English viewers from his loan spell at Hull towards the end of the season.

Having said that he did only play one match for the Tigers while on loan from Leeds, who signed him from Maritimo in the summer of 2005.

He had previously played for Hertha Berlin and Stuttgart in the German Bundesliga where he carved himself out a reputation as a tough centre-back.
