Another of the Ligue 1 champions in the France World Cup squad, Florent Malouda is likely to find himself on the fringes this summer, but he's a more than adequate 'impact player' for Raymond Domenech to throw on if needed.
Born in Guyana, the 26-year-old made his debut against Poland in November 2004 and is only just into double figures in terms of international caps - but his raw pace and technical ability make him an excellent option to have sitting on the substitutes' bench.
Having made his professional breakthrough with Ligue 2 side Berrichonne de Chateauroux in 1998, he got his move to the top flight two years later with Guingamp.
Despite being a left winger by trade he spent much of his time there playing up front with current Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Lyon were impressed enough with his 10 Ligue 1 goals in 2002/03 to sign him - Malouda describing it as his "dream move".
He has gone on to be an integral part of their three Ligue 1 titles since and his versatility - he can play at left-back on the left of midfield or up front - make him a hugely valuable squad member at both club and international level.
