Position: Goalkeeper
Born: 14.05.79
Club: Nantes

A graduate of French football's famous centre of excellence, Mickael Landreau is still awaiting the chance to establish himself as France's No 1.

He has looked destined for that role for many a year but will probably have to wait until the retirement of at least Fabien Barthez, and possibly Gregory Coupet as well, for an extended run in the national side.

Currently with Nantes, Landreau has constantly been linked with a move to one of the continent's bigger leagues with Juventus coach Fabio Capello and Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed admirers.

With over 300 appearances at club level under his belt already at the age of 27, Landreau is a more than capable back-up for Barthez and Coupet and his experience of Euro 2004 and this tournament will make him a better player when his chance at the highest level of all finally comes.
