Gregory Coupet made his international debut four years ago but has spent much of the interim behind Fabien Barthez in the pecking order.

He did take advantage of Barthez's six-month ban last year for spitting at a referee to establish himself as the No 1 but travels to Germany this summer back in his familiar role as international understudy.

Going into his 10th year at Lyon after making a successful move from their arch-rivals Saint-Etienne in 1996, Coupet is a multiple Ligue 1 winner with extensive Champions League experience and as such is a reliable and able deputy as he proved in his six full appearances in qualifying.

The 33-year-old has been linked with some of Europe's 'bigger' clubs in the past, but he looks content to finish his career with Lyon.
