Position: Goalkeeper
Born: 30.06.75
Club: Fredrikstad FK

A familiar face to English viewers after his spells with Arsenal, West Ham and Brighton, Rami Shaaban was named in Sweden's squad in early May despite not having won an international cap at that point.

A surprise selection given Eddie Gustafsson didn't make the cut, and particularly so given he has not played for his country at any level, Shaaban's call-up is reward for having fought his way back from serious injury problems including a broken leg.

His form in Norway for Fredrikstad looks to have impressed Lars Lagerback, though, and with experience of both the Barclays Premiership and Champions League you can be sure Shabaan is a man who can be relied upon if needed.
