One of two uncapped players named in the Sweden 23, Fredrik Stenman is a man the whole of Swedish football has high hopes for.

Already playing in one of Europe's five biggest leagues (he joined German Bundesliga side Bayer Leverkusen from Djurgardens last year), the 23-year-old is one of a new breed of left-back who are as good going forward as they are defensively.

Unlikely to find himself in Lars Lagerback's starting line-up from the outset, Stenman has shown with Leverkusen that he is more than capable of rising to a challenge and this surely won't be the only World Cup Finals of his career.
