Daniel Andersson made his Sweden debut back in February 1997, but a series of unsuccessful spells with Italian clubs saw him fall out of favour at international level.

However a return to Malmo in his homeland in 2004 has once more brought the midfielder back to prominence and his experience has been useful for the squad.

The 29-year-old, the younger brother of former Sweden defender Patrik Andersson, appeared for just one minute in qualifying and as such looks set to begin the tournament among the substitutes.

But Andersson is a solid performer in the centre of the pitch and can be relied on to settle things down with his calm and confident manner.
