Christoph Spycher was arguably Switzerland's best player at Euro 2004 and is sure to be involved in some stern midfield battles this summer.
At 28, this tenacious battler is hardly young and some say he's a late developer after only making his international debut in April 2003.
Since his impressive tournament in Portugal he has continued to progress and was a key figure in the Swiss' World Cup qualifying campaign, playing in six games including the tense play-off victory over Turkey.
At club level Spycher's career came to life in 2001 when he joined Grasshoppers after helping Luzern avoid relegation from the Swiss top flight.
In his second year in Zurich he helped his side win the Swiss title but at the start of this season he joined Eintracht Frankfurt in the German Bundesliga where he is now an established all-rounder.
