Position: Defender
Born: 14.10.80
Club: LDU Quito

Paul Ambrossi is Ecuador's 'Mr Reliable' due to his consistent performances in defence.

Playing in the unfashionable left-back role, Ambrossi is much better at the defensive side of his game rather than bombing down the wings in the same way as Ulises de la Cruz.

The 25-year-old is a solid marker with good technique and featured heavily in 13 of Ecuador's World Cup qualifying games.

Nicknamed 'El Zurdo', the full-back is still competent at getting forward and can deliver some threatening crosses into the box.
