Jorge Guagua is still biding his time before he can force his way into Ecuador's starting line-up.

With Giovanny Espinosa and Ivan Hurtado the unmovable rocks at the back, Guagua will have to rely on injuries and suspensions to play some sort of role in Germany.

However he has the ability and quality to provide useful cover for Ecuador and still only 24, Guagua still has a prosperous future ahead of him.

The composed central defender missed on the last World Cup due to his age but now he'll insist he is vying for a starting place.
