Marlon Ayovi works his magic in Ecuador's midfield - but some say age is starting to get the better of him.

The 34-year-old was an integral part of Ecuador's qualifying campaign, playing in 16 games and scoring twice, including one in the 5-2 thrashing of Paraguay.

Ayovi is vastly experienced in central midfield, having been on the international stage since Under-18 level. He took part in the last World Cup in Japan and Korea where he proved he had the talents to cope at this level .

At his peak he was highly technical with excellent reading of the game and while he retains those abilities, his loss of pace may prove to be a weakness this summer.
