Position: Midfielder
Born: 05.02.85
Club: Manchester United

The man who Sir Alex Ferguson claimed when signing him had more potential than anyone else in Europe, 'the other Ronaldo' is already racing up the Portuguese cap list despite having only just edged into his 20s.

His best performance for Manchester United to date remains probably the 2004 FA Cup final when he ripped Millwall to shreds and even scored with a header.

That capped an impressive first season for the Red Devils in which Ronaldo provided one of the few rays of light in an otherwise disappointing season for the club.

At the start of the campaign he was a raw talent with a scarcely believable array of tricks but little end product.

The tricks are still in evidence today, albeit toned down to perhaps three stepovers a game, yet while he is still prone to overplaying at times he has a much better idea of when to cross and when to hold onto the ball.

The former Sporting Lisbon midfielder's international performances helped soften the blow of the retirement of Luis Figo and he has continued to be a first choice despite Figo's return during the qualifying campaign.

Excellent with both feet on the ground and also surprisingly good in the air Ronaldo provides a genuine threat from set-pieces, a rare talent for a winger.

He helped his country to the Euro 2004 final against Greece, netting in the semi-final against Holland along the way, and has the talent and skill to light up the entire tournament in Germany.
