Eddie Johnson has scored goals throughout the levels with the US national team and struck in each of his first four appearances for the senior team - a total of five goals in three starts and one substitute appearance.

The Kansas City man continued that impressive form in qualifying for this tournament with seven goals in as many appearances (and only 432 minutes' playing time) meaning he was the US' joint-top scorer with Landon Donovan.

Lightning quick but also blessed with a physical presence that unsettles defences, the Floridian began his pro career with FC Dallas before joining the Wizards in February 2006.

His scoring feats both at franchise and international level mean he has already appeared on the radar of several top European clubs and it would be no surprise if he is snapped up by one of them after this tournament.
