Position: Defender/Midfielder
Born: 27.05.83
Club: Reading

Capped over 30 times for his country already despite being just 23, Bobby Convey has had a season to remember having helped Reading reach the English Premiership for the first time in their history with a record points total.

Primarily a midfielder, particularly at club level, it is at left-back that Convey has found favour under Bruce Arena with Leeds midfielder Eddie Lewis looking to be the first choice on the left of the American midfield.

Strong and swift and in possession of a hugely dangerous left foot, Convey became the third youngest US cap when he came on to make his international debut against Mexico in 2002 aged just 17 and 151 days.

By that stage he was still emerging at DC United but he looked to have earnt his chance at the big time just a year later when Tottenham moved for him, only for work permit problems to scupper his hopes of a move.

He has since found his way into the English game with Reading and must be fancied to make his mark on the Premiership once this tournament finishes.
