Position: Goalkeeper
Born: 20.02.80
Club: Celtic

Having started the last three of his country's World Cup qualifiers, Artur Boruc can justifiably claim to be Poland's No 1.

Prior to the clash with Austria in September there was little doubt Jerzy Dudek had that particular honour - but his lack of playing time with Liverpool (with Jose Reina now the first choice at Anfield) has given Boruc his chance.

And having helped Celtic win the SPL title, the 26-year-old will certainly be full of confidence heading to Germany.

A huge barrier as the last tine of defence for the Poles, Boruc is a largely sound keeper with excellent reactions but, like Dudek, the former Legia Warsaw man can be prone to the odd lapse.
