Costa Rica's most-capped player, Luis Marin has played well over 100 times for his country.

Marin has been a stalwart of the side for well over a decade, but this could well be his last appearance at a World Cup finals.

He is a cultured, ball-playing defender who has built up a good partnership at the back with another gifted defender in Douglas Sequeira.

Marin will hope to have better memories of this tournament than four years ago in Japan and South Korea, where Marin's own goal set Brazil on their way to an enthralling 5-2 victory in one of the best games of the 2002 World Cup.
