Kezman - prolific goalscorer.

Position: Forward
Born: 12.04.79
Club: Atletico Madrid

Mateja Kezman made his name as a predatory goalscorer with Partizan Belgrade in his homeland and opened the scoring on his international debut for Serbia and Montenegro against China in May 2000.

He moved to Dutch side PSV Eindhoven later that year and was the top scorer in the Dutch Eredivisie, scoring an incredible 24 goals from just 33 games in his first season.

While at PSV, Kezman also picked up the nickname 'Batman' - the famous theme song was played at the Philips Stadion everytime he scored!

That tune was heard plenty of times as he proceeded to score 81 goals over the following three seasons with PSV, before finally moving to Chelsea for £5 million in the summer of 2004.

Despite being part of the Blues' Premiership-winning squad, Kezman struggled in England, often finding it hard to hold down a spot in the side given coach Jose Mourinho's preference for playing one striker, preferably a 'big man'.

In the summer of 2005, after scoring just seven goals for Chelsea, Kezman moved to Spain to join Atletico Madrid.

He is back among the goals at his new club, and also scored four goals in four games as Serbia and Montenegro qualified for the World Cup finals.

But he will hope to have more of an impact than he did in his last appearance in a major finals - when he was sent off against Norway at Euro 2000 just moments after coming on as a substitute.
